Terms of Conditions

Last updated: 2nd August 2026

These terms govern your use of thepeptologist.co.uk and any order you place with us. Please read them before ordering — by placing an order you confirm that you accept them.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.

1. Who we are

The Peptologist (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates this website and supplies research materials and laboratory accessories.

Email: thepeptologist@gmail.com

2. Research use only

This is the most important section of these terms.

2.1 Every product we supply is intended strictly for in-vitro laboratory research.

2.2 Our products are not supplied for, and must not be used for:

  • Human consumption, application, injection or administration of any kind
  • Animal or veterinary use
  • Clinical, therapeutic, diagnostic or medical purposes
  • Use as food, food supplements, cosmetics or medicines
  • Any in-vivo use whatsoever

2.3 Our products have not been assessed or authorised by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). We make no claim as to their safety or efficacy in humans or animals.

2.4 We do not provide guidance on administration, dosing or use, and we cannot answer questions of that nature. Requests for such guidance will be declined.

2.5 By placing an order you confirm that you are purchasing solely for lawful in-vitro research purposes, that products will be handled only by personnel competent in the safe handling of research materials, and that you will comply with all applicable legislation, including the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (COSHH).

2.6 We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order where we believe the products may be intended for human or animal use, or for any other purpose outside the scope of these terms.

3. Eligibility

To order from us you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Be ordering for delivery within the United Kingdom
  • Be purchasing for in-vitro research purposes only
  • Provide accurate, current and complete information at checkout

4. Our products

4.1 We take care to describe products accurately. Where available, batch-specific Certificates of Analysis are published in our COA library and should be reviewed before use.

4.2 Product images are illustrative. Packaging, labelling and appearance may vary between batches.

4.3 Colours and appearance may differ from how they appear on your screen depending on your device.

4.4 We may change product descriptions, discontinue products, or limit quantities available to any person or region at our discretion and without notice.

5. Orders

5.1 Placing an order is an offer to buy, not a completed contract.

5.2 A contract is formed only when we send you a dispatch confirmation. An order confirmation email acknowledges receipt but does not constitute acceptance.

5.3 We may decline any order at our discretion, including where a product is unavailable, where there is an error in pricing or description, where we cannot verify your details, or where we believe the order falls outside these terms. If we decline an order after payment, we will refund you in full.

5.4 Please check your order carefully before submitting. Cancellation after dispatch is covered by our Returns & Refunds Policy.

6. Prices and payment

6.1 Prices are shown in pounds sterling and are those in effect at the time you place your order.

6.2 Delivery charges are shown separately at checkout before you pay.

6.3 Payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details.

6.4 Payment must be received and cleared before your order is dispatched.

6.5 If a product is listed at an incorrect price due to an error, we are not obliged to supply it at that price. We will contact you before dispatch to confirm whether you wish to proceed at the correct price or cancel.

6.6 Promotional codes and offers may be withdrawn or amended at any time and cannot be applied retrospectively.

7. Delivery

7.1 We dispatch from UK stock. Orders placed before 2 PM on a working day are usually dispatched the same day.

7.2 Delivery estimates given at checkout are estimates provided by the carrier and are not guaranteed.

7.3 We are not liable for delays caused by carriers, adverse weather, or other events outside our reasonable control.

7.4 Risk in the products passes to you on delivery. Ownership passes once we have received payment in full.

7.5 You are responsible for providing an accurate and complete delivery address.

Full details are in our Shipping & Delivery Policy.

8. Returns and refunds

Due to the sealed and perishable nature of research materials, our ability to accept returns is limited. Full details, including your rights where goods arrive damaged, incorrect or not as described, are set out in our Returns & Refunds Policy, which forms part of these terms.

9. Your account

9.1 If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity under your account.

9.2 Tell us immediately if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

9.3 You may not transfer, sell or share your account with anyone else.

9.4 We may suspend or close an account where we believe these terms have been breached.

10. Acceptable use of this website

You may use this website for lawful purposes only. You must not:

  • Use it in any way that breaches applicable law or regulation
  • Introduce viruses, malware or other harmful code
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its server, or any connected system
  • Scrape, copy, republish or exploit any part of the site or its content for commercial purposes
  • Misrepresent your identity or your intended use of our products

11. Intellectual property

11.1 All content on this website — text, images, product photography, graphics, layout and branding — is owned by us or our licensors and protected by UK and international intellectual property law.

11.2 You may view and print content for your own personal, non-commercial use. Any other reproduction, distribution or republication requires our prior written consent.

11.3 “The Peptologist” and our logo are our trademarks and may not be used without permission.

12. Our liability

12.1 Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12.2 Subject to clause 12.1, our total liability arising from any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.

12.3 We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of our products outside the scope of in-vitro laboratory research, or from any failure to handle, store or dispose of them properly.

12.4 We are not liable for business losses. If you use our products for any commercial purpose, we have no liability for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity.

12.5 We do not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components.

13. Your responsibility

You are solely responsible for:

  • Ensuring each product is suitable for your intended research application
  • Safe handling, storage, labelling and disposal
  • Compliance with all applicable institutional, local and national requirements
  • Ensuring products are handled only by competent personnel

We accept no liability for misuse, improper handling, unsafe storage, or any use falling outside research use only.

14. Events outside our control

We are not liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where that failure or delay results from events beyond our reasonable control, including carrier failure, supplier failure, extreme weather, industrial action, power or network failure, or acts of government.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force at the time you place your order is the version that applies to that order. The current version is always available on this page.

16. General

16.1 If any provision of these terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.

16.2 A delay in enforcing any part of these terms is not a waiver of our right to do so later.

16.3 You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these terms without our written consent. We may transfer ours, provided this does not affect your rights.

16.4 These terms are between you and us. No other person has any right to enforce them.

17. Complaints

If something has gone wrong, email us at [YOUR EMAIL] with your order number and we will respond as quickly as we can. We would always rather resolve an issue directly.

18. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, you retain the right to bring proceedings in your own jurisdiction.

All products are supplied strictly for in-vitro laboratory research. Not for human or animal consumption, application, injection, clinical, veterinary, or diagnostic use.
